Thanksgiving Weekend at Graceland Features Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas With Live Orchestra

Thanksgiving Weekend at Graceland Features Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas With Live Orchestra

On Thanksgiving weekend, Elvis Presley’s Graceland will present Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Concert, a live-to-picture performance featuring the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. In honor of the film’s 25th anniversary, starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch, audiences can enjoy the classic holiday favorite on the big screen while James Horner’s magical score is brought to life on stage.

Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Concert will take place on Saturday, November 29, at 6:00 pm at the Graceland Soundstage, located across the street from Elvis’ beloved Graceland Mansion.

“The Memphis Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to partner with Graceland to bring this holiday classic to life,” said Peter Abell, President & CEO of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. “Experiencing James Horner’s score performed live adds a new dimension of magic and emotion to How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s a joyful way to celebrate the season and share the gift of music with our community.”

Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas debuted in theaters in 2000. Starring Jim Carrey as The Grinch, Academy Award®-winning director Ron Howard and Academy Award®-winning producer Brian Grazer reimagine one of the most enduring holiday stories of all time. Why is The Grinch (Carrey) such a grouch? No one seems to know, until little Cindy-Lou Who (Taylor Momsen) takes matters into her own hands and turns both Who-ville and the Grinch's world upside down, inside out and funny side up in search for the true meaning of Christmas.

Susan Brandt, CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, said, “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas stole the hearts of fans when it hit movie theaters in 2000 and a quarter-century later is as popular as ever. This performance by the Memphis Symphony Orchestra taking place at Elvis Presley’s Graceland is such a fitting tribute to the fandom for The Grinch, and the beloved film.”

Tickets for Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Concert are on sale now through Graceland Reservations and online at Graceland.com. Limited Time Offer: Save 20% with promo code CHRISTMAS20 on all non-VIP tickets.

As a special bonus for ticket buyers, attendees can come out early to enjoy  complimentary access after 3:00 pm to tour Elvis Presley’s Memphis  attractions and exhibits, which include the chance to see Elvis’ Pink Cadillac, more than 50 of his dazzling jumpsuits, and over 10 exhibits and attractions celebrating the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. A $51 value included as part of the concert ticket.

“We are excited to offer some fun and nostalgia over Thanksgiving weekend,” said Jack Soden, CEO of Elvis Presley Enterprises. “From exploring Elvis Presley’s classic cars, iconic jumpsuits, and incredible career at Elvis Presley’s Memphis, to enjoying live music - and a little mischief - with Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas at the Graceland Soundstage, we look forward to welcoming everyone for this special holiday experience.”
